Jo Dee Messina

This video for "Bye Bye" is my favorite song from Jo Dee Messina.

Jo Dee Messina may of had a rough start in her career, but she decided to keep on trekking and this hard work helped her out. In fact, in 1999 she won the CMA's Horizon Award for new artists. Her song "Bring on the Rain," which features Tim McGraw, became a big hit. She has toured with Vince Gill, the Judds, and even George Strait. Her most recent album was released in 2005.

Reba McEntire

The song (video above) "Fancy" is the first major hit for Reba McEntire

Reba McEntire started her career in 1975. The album "My Type of Country" brought her her first taste of success. She has had a total of 24 number 1 hits so far in her career and 28 of her CDs have been certified gold. She has even started an acting career since she started her stardom. She is ranked 7th in best selling female artist from any genre and 2nd for country music. She has no doubt left her mark in all of pop culture.

Miranda Lambert

This is the music video for "Everybody Dies Famous in a Small Town," which is my favorite song by Miranda Lambert. : )

Miranda is on her third album now and is 25 years old.  Her most successful song "Gunpowder and Lead" tells about what she thinks girls are really made of - gunpowder and lead.  Her songs are all outspoken such as this one and in fact, she is quoted as saying, "I mean every word I say in every lyric of every song on this record, and every record I've ever done."
This past week she won the ACM for Female Vocalist of the year, an ACM for Country Video of the year for the song "White Liar," and even an ACM for album of the year.
She is set to perform at the CMT Awards on June 9th in Nashville, TN.

TAYLOR SWIFT

Above is the music video for "Picture to Burn."

This 20 year old has only been around for a short time but has caused quite a stir in the genre of country music.
Her most recent album titled "Fearless" reached gold platinum status in more than 40 countries and has spent more weeks at #1 on the Billboard 100 chart and even has topped charts with many of the songs.  For her "Fearless" tour the seats have been sold out within minutes at every venue.  Taylor even says -- “To me, fearless isn’t not having fears,” explains Swift.  “It’s not that you’re not afraid of anything.  I think that being fearless is having a lot of fears, but you jump anyway.”

Taylor is delightful and has dreamed of writing music her whole life.  She even started writing music at the age of twelve.  Her songs show the empathy she has with her friends.  This fact is what makes her so popular with teenagers.  She has been quoted as saying that she wants to write songs to fit any situation that a person may encounter in their lives.

CARRIE UNDERWOOD

This is Carrie Underwood's first hit song "Jesus Take the Wheel."

Carrie Underwood is such a great performer that she has won many awards since she made her start on American Idol.   In fact, she is nominated for 3 CMT Video Awards.  If you would like to vote for her click this link -- http://www.cmt.com/cmt-music-awards/ : )
Carrie was also up for 6 nominations for the 45th Academy of Country Music Awards & she won the Entertainer of the Year Award for 2010.  Her success is thanks to her incredible singing voice and amazing singing skills.  She is a role model for many children and is respected by most, if not all, country music fans.
